All HCSP contract language must be reviewed and approved by MSRS when an employer:

  • Enrolls in the HCSP for the first time;

  • Adds a new employee group that previously did not participate; or

  • Modifies the way in which an employee group participates in the Plan.

Once the language has been drafted and approved by the bargaining unit or employer, MSRS must review.

  • If approved, MSRS will send email notification to the employer. The employer can remit contributions on behalf of employees.

  • If declined, MSRS will offer suggestions to make the language acceptable. The employer should not remit contributions until the contract has been approved.

IMPORTANT!

  • Approval for one of your employee union/non-union groups does not constitute approval for all groups. Employers must provide MSRS with contract language for each employee group participating in the HCSP.

  • Never remit contributions for an employee who is in an employee group that has not been approved by MSRS to participate in the HCSP.
